Youth Initiative

Youth Initiative

Youth Intiatives are projects where young people (15-30) particpate actively and directly in the implementation of their own ideas. The purpose is to develop their abilities, intiative and creativity.

Projects last for between 3 and 18 months and the young people should be directly responsible for the design and delivery of the project. Xchange Scotland enables individuals or groups to take part in projects co-ordinated by us and supports them in the development of their own ideas.

Youth Initiatives can be implemented on a local, national or international level. The project should not only have benefits for the particpants but also address the needs of the local community and be in line with the aims of the Youth In Action programme.

There are grants to cover the majority of activity costs and a high percentage of travel costs for international projects. There also the possibilities for the young people to have a project coach if needed.

Xchange Scotland can not only help you through the process of running the project at home, but can help to find reputable and professional partners across Europe and further afield.
