A big part of Xchange Scotland's work is building partnerships with organisations here in Scotland - charities, not-for-profits and NGOs. We build these partnerships to see how organisations can benefit from having volunteers from overseas come in to help them on a project.
Previous examples of international volunteer projects we have co-ordinated include:
- 14 international volunteers helping the construction of an outdoor classroom at Dean Castle Country Park in Kilmarnock for 2 weeks
- A group of 4 volunteers helping out at a children's summer programme for 6 weeks in Glasgow - see video below!
- 12 volunteers helping a charity achieve more around their intercultural carnival in Knightswood, Glasgow
- 8 volunteers from all over Europe working to create a maze at Clydemuirshiel Regional Park in Renfrewshire for 3 weeks
We are always keen to hear from organisations who think they could benefit from having an international volunteer project. Projects come in all shapes and sizes and are arranged to meet the needs of the host organisation.
